Day 1 Arusha – Arusha National Park
In the morning, we will collect you from your hotel in Arusha and take you to the Arusha National Park. The park has an incredible variety of fauna and flora, which cannot fail to impress. Hollywood also chose this region to film the movie “Hatari” in which Hardy Kruger starred alongside the legendary John Wayne. Your day trip will include a visit to the Ngurdo Crater. Buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, warthogs, zebras and baboons can be seen all year round as well as many different bird species.

At the Momella Gate, an armed ranger will be waiting for you to accompany you on your walking safari that will give you the chance to experience the wildlife up-close. Only a few other national parks in Tanzania give you such an opportunity and it is something that should not be missed. Lunch will be taken at a picnic place and in the afternoon, you will continue your tour in the safari vehicle through the Arusha National Park. After plenty of time allocated for you to observe the wildlife, we will take you back to Arusha.

Day Trip to Saadani National Park

Description

After breakfast you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam and driven to Saadani National Park which is about a two-hour drive away. On the way you’ll be able to see local villages, historical attractions and rivers including the Wami River where we’ll get on the dirt road to the park.

ARRIVAL AT SAADANI NATIONAL PARK FOR GAME DRIVE
Expect the unexpected is a good rule for your game drive in Saadani. You never know what you’ll see but your guide will be looking out for land animals like elephant, lion, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, waterbuck and sable antelope and birds like the African hornbill.

There’s a good chance of spotting hippo, crocodile and a selection of marine and riverine birds, including the mangrove kingfisher and lesser flamingo, on stretches of the Wami River, and although they’re usually only spotted at dawn or dusk, the beaches here are one of the last major green turtle breeding sites on mainland Tanzania.

LUNCH ON THE BEACH
You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach with its white sand and sparkling clear water. If you’re a romantic bring your loved one – it doesn’t get much better than this.
After lunch you’ll continue your game drive or you can take a boat safari if you wish. Then drive back to Dar Es Salaam where we’ll drop you back at your hotel. It’s been a long, exciting day and you’ll have a lot of amazing stories to share.

Day Trip to Bagamoyo

Description

Dar-es-Salaam – Bagamoyo Early morning after breakfast we'll pick you up from your hotel and take you straight to visit Bagamoyo. Bagamoyo is the oldest town in Tanzania, founded by the end of the 18th century. It was the original capital of German East Africa and one of the most important trading ports along the East African coast. Today Bagamoyo has around 30,000 inhabitants and is the capital of the District of Bagamoyo, recently designated as a World Heritage Site.

The coastal Swahili town of Bagamoyo was one of the most important trading ports on the East African coast and the penultimate stop of slave and ivory caravans travelling on foot from Lake Tanganyika on their way to Zanzibar. Missionaries active in abolishing the slave trade made Bagamoyo, whose name means 'bury my heart' in Kiswahili, a center of their activities. Today, Bagamoyo is a center for dhow sailboat building on the Tanzanian coast.

A quiet village with a few German colonial buildings still standing. In the past, the town of Bagamoyo was one of the most important trading ports on the entire East African coast. Most tourist prefer weekend holidays in Bagamoyo Town, which lies about 75 km north of Dar es Salaam on the coast of the Indian Ocean, close to the Islands of Zanzibar. In the late afternoon when the tour is over, we'll drive you back. Dar es Salaam It's been a busy day and you'll have seen and learnt a lot about Bagamoyo place.

Climbing Kilimanjaro
Kilimanjaro Climb

Mt. Kilimanjaro Climb Machame Route

Description

Kilimanjaro represents a powerful life force for the local Chagga people and all those who have made their lives around this mountain, providing rich volcanic soils for agriculture and an endless source of pure spring waters.

One of the most amazing aspects of the mountain in the present day is the accessibility of its peak to climbers with no mountain climbing equipment or real previous experience of scaling such heights.

Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain that regular tourists can climb, although it remains a considerable feat of human endurance! The breathable oxygen at the top is less than half the amount than is common at sea level, and climbers cover at least eighty kilometres on nothing but their own two feet over the five days it takes to reach the top and return.

Kilimanjaro is the world’s highest free standing, snow-covered equatorial mountain. Now charted and climbed; stories of her resident man-eating spirits are relegated to the realms of folklore. But Mount Kilimanjaro continues to preserve a mysticism that defies all recent knowledge of her slopes.

Mt. Kilimanjaro Climb: Machame Route

Day 1 Base Hotel (D)
Arrive at Dik Dik Hotel at the start of your expedition.

Day 2 Machame Forest 10,000 ft. (BLD)
Walk through the Machame rainforest for 6 hours to your campsite in the giant heather.

Day 3 Shira Plateau 12,500 ft. (BLD)
Trek for approximately 6 hours up to the Shira Plateau.

Day 4 Barranco 12,795 ft. (BLD)
Climb and descend steep ridges with spectacular views of the glacier to Barranco during a 6 hour walk.

Day 5 Bafaru 15,092 ft. (BLD)
Follow the Kibo Southern Circuit up to Bafaru ‘ice’ hut after a 6 hour walk.

Day 6 Summit Day! 19,340 ft. (BLD)
Leaving shortly after midnight, the tough 5 hour climb is up loose scree. On a starlit night there are views to the town and villages below. Arrive at Hans Meyer Peak at 18,340 ft at dawn. Then the final ascent to Uhuru Peak. After photographs, return to Barafu for a short rest and then descend for about six hours to Mweka valley.

Day 7 Base Hotel (BLD)
An easy descent through the rainforest to Mweka Village. Transfer to the Dik Dik Hotel for a celebration.

Day 8 Arusha (B)
After breakfast leave for Arusha.
